We analyzed thousands of profiles to find the templates and design choices that get the most clicks. Here's what actually works.
We looked at over 50,000 Biozy profiles — specifically the ones with the highest click-through rates — and ran cluster analysis on their design choices. What we found challenges a lot of conventional wisdom about what 'looks good' versus what actually performs.
Dark themes outperform light themes by 23%
Across our dataset, profiles using dark backgrounds averaged a 23% higher click-through rate than light-background profiles. Our hypothesis: dark themes create better contrast for link buttons, reducing visual noise and making CTAs stand out. The effect is especially pronounced on mobile, where most traffic comes from.
If you're unsure what theme to pick, start with Noir or Cosmic — both consistently rank in the top 5 by CTR in our data.
The pill-shaped button paradox
Rounded pill-style buttons (border-radius: 9999px) are popular in link-in-bio design, but our data shows they actually perform slightly worse than standard rounded rectangles. Our theory: pill buttons look more 'decorative' and less 'clickable' than the familiar rectangular button shape users are conditioned to interact with.
